URL
A uniform resource locator (URL) is a reference to a
resource that specifies the location of the resource on a computer network and
a mechanism (http, ftp etc.,) for retrieving it. A URL is a specific type of

ftp://ftp.is.co.za/rfc/rfc1808.txt
http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2396.txt
Above all are URL’s, since they had access protocol
mechanism like ftp, http, telnet. URI don’t specify the access mechanism.
