Setup a GCP Account to Experiment

 

Google Cloud offers a free trial where new users receive $300 in credits valid for 12 months to explore and use various Google Cloud services.

 

Step-by-Step Guide to Signing Up:

1. Visit the Google Cloud website.

·      Open your web browser and go to cloud.google.com.

 

2. Click on "Get started for free"

·      You’ll find this option on the homepage. Click it to begin the signup process.

 

3. Sign in with your Google Account

 

·      Enter your Gmail ID and password.

·      If you don’t have a Google account, you’ll need to create one.

 

4. Accept the Terms of Service

·      Read and accept Google Cloud’s Terms of Service and click Continue.

 

5. Provide Account Information

·      Select Account Type: Choose "Individual".

·      Tax Information: Select "Unregistered Individual" (if applicable).

·      Fill in other mandatory details, including your name, address, and phone number.

 

6. Enter Payment Information

·      Provide a credit or debit card for verification.

·      Google will charge a small refundable amount (e.g., 1 or $0.01) to verify the card’s authenticity.

·      This amount will be refunded automatically.

 

7. Complete Additional Verification (if required)

 

·      In some cases, Google may ask for further verification.

·      Click on "Proceed to verification" if prompted.

·      You may need to:

o   Enter your Billing Account ID (sent via email).

o   Upload an image of your bank card (you can cover all numbers except the last 4 digits for security).

 

8. Submit and Wait for Approval

·      After submission, Google will review your details.

·      Once approved, your Google Cloud account will be activated, and you’ll receive $300 in free credits.

 

Important Notes:

1. No auto-charges after the trial:

·      After 12 months or once you use up the $300 credits, your account will not be charged automatically.

·      To continue using Google Cloud services, you must manually upgrade to a paid account.

 

Who is eligible?

·      The free trial is available to new Google Cloud users.

·      Some regions might have additional verification requirements.
