Spring boot: MongoDB: Model relationships using embedded documents


You can model relationships by embedding one document in other.

For example,
public class Address {

 private String city;
 private String country;

 ......
 ......

}

@Document("employees")
public class Employee {
 @Id
 private String id;

 private String firstName;

 private String lastName;

 private Address address;

 .......
 .......

}


As you see above snippet, I embedded Address object in Employee entity.

Single Employee Document looks like below.

Connect to mongo shell and execute the mongo command 'db.employees.find().pretty()' to confirm that the documents are created.
