HQL : Named parameter binding


It use colon followed by a parameter name (:paramName) to define a named parameter.

Example
String empId = "4";
String lastName = "Gurram";
               
Query query = session.createQuery("from Employee where id = :id or lastName = :name");
query.setString("id", empId);
query.setString("name", lastName);
